HEALING GARDENS
Editorial reflection
In a world defined by constant motion and mounting pressures, the need for spaces that nurture pause, reflection, and healing has become increasingly vital. Healing Gardens – Designing Spaces for Wellness and Reflection emerged as a response to this urgency, inviting designers to reimagine landscapes not merely as aesthetic compositions, but as immersive environments that restore balance between mind, body, and nature.
The competition brought forward a diverse range of thoughtful and inspiring proposals that explored the therapeutic potential of design. Participants skillfully integrated sensory experiences, cultural narratives, and ecological sensitivity, crafting spaces that encourage introspection, inclusivity, and community connection. Each entry demonstrated a deep understanding of how nature, when intentionally designed, can become a powerful medium for healing and well-being.
As we announce the results, we celebrate not only the winning projects but also the collective vision of all participants who contributed to redefining the role of landscape architecture in wellness. These ideas remind us that healing gardens are more than spaces—they are experiences that cultivate resilience, foster harmony, and reconnect us with the essential rhythms of life.

The design risks becoming programmatically dense—greater restraint and moments of emptiness could enhance its contemplative quality.

Juror’s Comment:
A conceptually clear and emotionally uplifting proposal that translates wellness into a structured journey from individual reflection to community engagement.
Work on:
The design is highly diagrammatic and lacks spatial depth—more tangible experiential qualities and atmospheric richness would strengthen its impact.
