COMMUNITY SPORTS HUB
Editorial reflection
The Community Sports Hub competition invited participants to explore how architecture can encourage movement, promote well-being, and bring communities together. Beyond providing spaces for organized sports, the challenge emphasized the potential of shared recreational environments to foster social interaction, inclusivity, and a more active lifestyle.
The submitted proposals explored diverse approaches to integrating sports facilities, outdoor recreation, and communal spaces, balancing functional requirements with architectural expression. Each project offered a distinct perspective on how thoughtfully designed environments can make physical activity more accessible and strengthen the connection between people and public space.
We thank all participants for their creativity, dedication, and contribution to this exploration of community-centred sports architecture. Congratulations to the winners and selected entries for their efforts in reimagining spaces where movement, play, and collective well-being can thrive.
