INTERNATIONAL DESIGN COMPETITION
MINIATURE ARBOREAL VISIONS
RESULT ANNOUNCEMENT!
FOREWORD
In an era where cities continue to expand and green spaces shrink, Miniature Arboreal Visions – Tiny Forest Design 2024 emerged as a bold call to reimagine the role of nature within our urban fabric. This unique competition invited architects, designers, and visionaries to explore the potential of miniature forests—compact yet powerful ecosystems that bring biodiversity, serenity, and sustainability into the heart of our cities.
Despite being a niche and conceptually demanding theme, the competition received 20 thoughtful and imaginative submissions from around the world. Each entry was a testament to the growing global consciousness around ecological resilience and sustainable design. However, in keeping with the focused scale of this edition, and the select number of submissions, the jury has decided to award only the top two entries that truly stood out for their innovation, depth, and alignment with the competition’s core values.
Participants were challenged to design urban miniature forests that not only enhanced biodiversity and ecological balance, but also fostered community engagement and inclusivity—transforming forgotten or overlooked urban spaces into breathing, living environments. From creative site selections to ingenious integration of sustainable systems, the entries reflected a sincere dedication to rethinking the intersection of nature and city life.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took part in this journey. Your ideas contribute to a larger, ongoing conversation about how design can nurture both people and the planet. As we reveal the winning entries, we celebrate not only their achievements, but the spirit of innovation and care that all participants brought to this competition.
May these miniature arboreal visions inspire future transformations—where green pockets bloom within grey landscapes, and urban life thrives in harmony with nature.

Jury Critique
"The layering of forest experiences through vertical architecture is highly creative and site-responsive. The terraced landform and spongy edge integrate form and function."
