REBIRTH
Editorial reflection
Architecture’s strength lies not only in creating the new, but in reimagining what already exists. REBIRTH – Old Structures, New Homes, organized by Archiol Competitions, invited designers to transform historic and outdated structures into meaningful contemporary residences.
The submissions reflect a thoughtful balance between preservation and innovation—retaining architectural identity while integrating modern living standards, functionality, and sustainability. From industrial shells to institutional buildings, each proposal demonstrates how adaptive reuse can turn constraints into opportunities.
As we announce the results, we celebrate a collective vision that embraces continuity over replacement. These projects reaffirm that by respecting the past, architecture can create homes that are both relevant and enduring.
