They are a multinational group composed of Chiba University students and exchange students, with diverse backgrounds related to architecture. Leveraging the culture of Japanese craftsmanship, they proposed a learning center that fluidly integrates various functions.

Rikuta Yamamoto is an architecture student at Chiba University. After studying civil engineering for five years at OMU College of Technology, he transferred to Chiba University. He aspires to be an architect who contributes to “enriching people’s lives” by harnessing the comprehensive potential of architecture. Currently, he is engaged in activities that reexamine materiality-the fundamental relationship between humans and matter-and draw on his experience in civil engineering, with the goal of reaching a wider audience through public architecture.

Shinjo Suzuki is an architecture student at Chiba University. He strives to create diverse spaces using extremely simple architectural techniques and to establish new relationships between interior and exterior environments, while also engaging in research in the fields of the built environment and building equipment. He is keenly interested in shaping spaces with the aim of achieving a balance between design and architectural comfort.

Samira Galle is an architecture student at the University of Applied Sciences Stuttgart. Her focus lies on functional and clear design concepts as well as the technical understanding of architecture. She is interested in spatial atmosphere and the connection between function and aesthetics. In her work, she values clear structures, thoughtful concepts, and a balanced relationship between technical function and design quality.

Marlies De Groof is a Master architecture student at KU Leuven in Ghent, Belgium, with a strong interest in human-centered design. She studied at Aalto University in Espoo, Finland, where she was inspired by Alvar Aalto’s balance between functionality, atmosphere, and emotional spatial experience. She later spent a semester at Chiba University in Japan, where Japanese architecture and the concept of Ma deeply influenced her thinking. Her work focuses on user flow and in-between spaces that foster interaction and connection.

Soushi Kawabata is a student at Chiba University. He believes that architecture can create richer spaces and experiences by connecting with its surrounding environment and local context. Through his work, he explores how architecture and the city can naturally interact while responding to human activity and the unique character of a place.

Ricardo Medina is an architecture student at Universidad Iberoamericana Tijuana, in the northwest border of México. Being from a binational metropolis, the converging contexts of both countries have shaped his views on how we make architecture and cities for a ever-moving reality of people, languages and communities, coming together and building collective dynamics through spaces. He focuses his design in how people interact with space and each other, to create or preserve those realities.
